Bioplastics made from wheat straw are produced from waste products of food processing, particularly from flour production residues. The leftover straw, unsuitable for consumption, is not incinerated but reused as a raw material for plastics. This production process eliminates the need for fossil fuels and results in significantly lower CO2 emissions compared to conventional plastic production. Wheat straw absorbs more CO2 from the air than is produced during photosynthesis, leading to CO2-neutral production. As a sustainable raw material, wheat straw is free of toxic pollutants, BPA-free, and of comparable quality to conventional plastics.
